Here are some commonly asked questions
How long does printing take?
Generally allow a week or two, depending on quantities. Most of our offset and large quantity printing is done at a trade only wholesale printer (the largest in NZ) and for most standard jobs the turnaround is 3-4 working days, plus overnight delivery (non rural). Our signwriters like to have a week or two to schedule in work as well. Especially if install is required.
What file types do you need?
We like to create the artwork in-house, so we have control over the finished print result. Occasionally we take on print-only jobs if you require expert advice, but we take no reposnisbility for errors in file setup. Print Ready PDF with bleed. Fonts outlined. No crop marks.
Small print: 3mm for small print is standard. Images 300dpi.
Large print: 10mm bleed for signwriters. Images min 150dpi for large format.
I've designed it myself, can you make it a logo?
Of course! I’m happy to take what you’ve made and turn it into something usable. Having concepts provided takes the guesswork out, but the real work is setting everything up correctly and giving you a professional design that stands the test of time across any medium. Our minimum charge is $500 for any logo work.
One small note: If your concept was created using AI, I’m not able to check it for originality. That part is on you. Everything I design is either original work or uses properly licensed assets for commercial use.
What about stock photos or graphics?
We have a subscription to Adobe Stock, Noun project, and Vector stock, so have access to a wide variety of assets (photos, patterns,icons and effects) that can be used within your design quote, with appropriate commercial license. This keeps your design quote more cost effective. If assets are used the commercial licence isn’t exclusive to you, so others may purchase or use the same assets in their projects too. For most small businesses or start ups / non profits stock assets are a great, affordable alternative to creating something from scratch.
Do you recommend using a photographer?
Yes, absolutely. Great photography tells your story in a way stock images simply can’t, and I always recommend it where budget allows. I work closely with a few photographers I trust, with packages starting from $800. If we hire a photographer for your project, those photos are exclusive to you. No one else can use them.
